![]() Commentary on MaryKay Expansion— 12/14/2007 by: Ricardo González Editor - The González Report , Executive Director - Bilingual America The point here is not really about Mary Kay. The point is about the incredible success of network marketing companies in Latin America. The reason? Relationships. Network marketing systems are built around one-on-one personal relationships. It is a widely held view that Puerto Rico, for example, is the number one Network Marketing country to test concepts and systems among Latinos. Many Latinos need additional resources and the closeness of the family and friends network allows for the development of successful Network Marketing opportunities. Obviously, with this, also comes the possibility (probability?) of corrupt sales and marketing practices which we denounce. Another factor is the rapidity in which news travels in the Latino culture. We are a very viral community relationally. This means these types of organizations can grow quickly. The danger? Lack of true commitment and business education on the part of many involved. The companies that succeed long-term, like Mary Kay, put an emphasis on training and trust. This is the true ingredient to a 'beautiful' network marketing result. Adelante, ![]() Ricardo González |
